Moving to Inverclyde from abroad
Thirteen steps between a job offer and a life here. We coordinate twelve of them. The visa is handled by a regulated adviser, because that is the only way it should be.
What we do and do not do
Move Greenock is not an immigration adviser. We do not tell you whether you qualify for a visa, which route to apply under, or how to complete an application — in the UK that is regulated work, and doing it without a licence is a criminal offence. What we do is introduce you to a licensed adviser and coordinate everything around their work. Where we charge a fee at that step, it is a coordination and referral fee, not a fee for advice.
Job offer
A confirmed role is the anchor for everything else. We surface employers hiring in Inverclyde, including those who tell us they hold a sponsor licence.
Employer sponsorship
Where a role is sponsored, your employer and their adviser handle the sponsorship paperwork. We keep the rest of the move moving alongside it.
Immigration and visasRegulated — referred out
Handled entirely by a regulated adviser we introduce you to. We coordinate around their timeline; we do not advise on it.
Flights and arrival
Timing your arrival around a start date, a tenancy start, and a school term.
Temporary accommodation
Somewhere to land for the first week or two, so you are not signing a lease on a property you have only seen online.
Permanent accommodation
Viewings — in person or on video — and help assembling a complete application pack.
Airport transfer
Glasgow Airport is about 40 minutes from Greenock. We arrange the pickup so arriving is not the hard part.
Bank account
Which banks open accounts for new arrivals, and what proof of address they will accept.
UK SIM and number
A local number makes everything else easier — applications, viewings, deliveries.
GP registration
How practice catchments work here and how to get registered in your first fortnight.
School placement
Introducing you to Inverclyde Council's placing request process. Catchment does not guarantee a place, and we do not predict outcomes.
Local orientation
A day walking the area with someone who lives here. Where things are, how the trains work, what is worth your Saturday.
Long-term settlement support
Sixty days of follow-up while the small problems surface.
Our immigration partners
We are finalising our panel of OISC-registered advisers. Until a licence is verified we do not list an adviser here, and we will not take a referral fee for one.
Tell us about your move
We will come back with what we can coordinate, and put you in touch with an adviser for anything visa-related.
Employers hiring from overseas
We run the relocation side so your new hire arrives ready to work rather than spending their first month sorting out a life.
